A particularly atmospheric concert, based on Aegean musical characteristics and cadences, within the context of contemporary jazz trends. It is an experimental, improvisational composition which falls within the international movement of 'Intuitive Music'. The idea of the Aegean Jazz project was developed in the aftermath of concerts by Marcus Stockhausen and Vasilis Rakopoulos within the context of performances and workshops organized by the Goethe Institute and the University of Macedonia.

It is not only that the original compositions are characterized by the austerity of the Cycladic idiom, but also the way of approaching and interpreting, searching for a sound which echoes the clarity of the light of the Cycladic islands.

The musicians get together at a unique level of experimental ethos and spirit, acting in an “intuitive” musical & poetical manner, setting the musical dialog on a level of high alertness and emotional content.

In the same concert, Yiannis Pagkakis presents his songs “In the shallow and deep…”
